Greetings,

From the Office of Parent Family Programs, we are here to serve and inform you with helpful information. Your Student will be home for the Holidays! We hope that you are able to enjoy your time with your student during winter break and have a wonderful holiday season!

The semester has come to an end, you and your student have made it either through the first semester of college or another semester closer to graduation. We are looking forward to The New Year & and yet another exciting semester!

Second Semester Expectations: December 17, 2014.

Often times, the second semester doesn't have the same fanfare and anticipation as the first for students so it can sometimes feel like a letdown. Students have gotten used to this college thing so they start wondering about other things such as if they should change their major, how can they improve their GPA, should they transfer to another school, etc. We will address these topics in this webinar.

A new FAFSA becomes available on January 1st of each year. The 2014-2015 FAFSA will be available on January 1st, 2014. We recommend that you apply as early as possible - March 1st is our "priority deadline" for certain types of grants. However, you can complete your FAFSA at any time during the school year. If eligible, you will receive any aid to which you are entitled - regardless of when you completed your FAFSA. Click the link below to complete your FAFSA.

The Parents' Academy is a peer-to-peer program featuring presentations & discussions with university administrators and current Owl Parent Association members.

This will be your "cup of comfort" for the upcoming semesters and is a great way to connect with your fellow Owl Parents!

During the week of January 5-9, 2015: We will host a series of webinars and open chat calls to assist you as your student returns to FAU. Topics include FAFSA, The Social Scene, and Getting Involved on Campus all of which are concerns for the second semester of the year. In addition, during the week at designated times, we will offer parents to call into our open chat line to talk with other parents and ask questions to the Parent and Family Programs staff. More details will be forthcoming.
