Kudos, Shirley Amore!
Yesterday, at a Mayor Council meeting, the Mayor of Denver the Denver Mayor and City Council issued a proclamation acknowledging Amore's service as city librarian and declaring January 27, 2015 as Shirley Amore Day in Denver. A well-deserved commemoration for a tireless library leader!
National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Awards Accepting Applications
The President's Committee on the Arts and the Humanities, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts, the National Endowment for the Humanities, and IMLS, is accepting applications for the 2015 National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Awards. Libraries and museums with after-school and out-of-school time arts and humanities programs are encouraged to apply. Winning programs receive $10,000 and an invitation to accept their award from First Lady Michelle Obama during a ceremony at the White House. Toledo-Lucas County Public Library Names New Deputy Director
Toledo-Lucas County Public Library announced the selection of Jason Kucsma as Deputy Director. Mr. Kucsma most recently served as the Executive Director of the Metropolitan New York Library Council (METRO). Read about him here.
