A 27-acre parcel of land in west Miami-Dade was officially purchased by Jackson Health System on 6.12.15, paving the way for the construction of "Jackson West," an outpatient campus for adult and pediatric patients.

"Jackson is officially moving into one of Miami-Dade's fastest growing residential and commercial areas," said Carlos A. Migoya, president and CEO of Jackson Health System. 

The land, located just west of the Palmetto Expressway and on the north side of Northwest 25^th Street in the City of Doral, will be developed into an outpatient campus for adults and pediatric patients.

A children's ambulatory center for specialized pediatric care and separate free-standing emergency room/urgent care centers for adults and children will be constructed and staffed.

The next step is the design phase of the project, which will include hiring an architect and builder. Construction is anticipated to take between 24 and 36 months.

"Jackson West" first got the green light in February, when it was approved by the Public Health Trust Board of Trustees, Jackson's governing body, and the Jackson Bond Citizens' Advisory Committee, which reviews projects funded by the Jackson Miracle-Building Bond program.
