JARI Attends Global Petroleum Show

Linda Thomson (JARI) and Kim Barnes (Northern Tier) work the GPS at the PA Pavilion in Calgary.

Linda Thomson, JARI president, attended the Global Petroleum Show (GPS) in Calgary, Alberta from June 8-12.  In addition to attending GPS events and exhibits, Thomson and others representing PA were able to meet with specific companies with headquarters or offices in Calgary who are doing business now or plan to do business in the Marcellus Shale region.  In addition, the PA team met up with Bud Strandquist of Advisian, headquartered 

in Calgary.  Bud resides in Johnstown and has helped advise JARI and others on oil and gas matters throughout the past several years.

 

Many thanks to Core PA, FirstEnergy and Southern Alleghenies for supporting this initiative along with the PA Department of Community and Economic Development and the partners who also attended from Northern Tier, North Central and Williamsport.

Appalachian Regional Commission 

2016-2020 Strategic Plan

The Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC)  is developing a new strategic plan to guide its economic and community development efforts in Appalachia over the five-year period from 2016-2020. ARC has commissioned a research study to examine socioeconomic change in the Appalachian Region to gain knowledge on a variety of topics. 

 

The Commission is conducting an online survey through June 19 to gather input from the general public. To participate in this 10 minute survey, please go to http://aspencsg.org/arc/

Contract Types Workshop
