Warmest wishes to you and yours as we enter the festive twelve days of Christmas! The Advent book study
(Being Christian: Baptism, Bible, Eucharist, Prayer by Rowan Williams) was so positive that I will offer another 4 week session during the Season of The Epiphany of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Becoming Jesus' Prayer invites readers to grow in spiritual maturity by deepening their understanding and prayer practice using the Lord's Prayer.

IF YOU WANT TO PARTICIPATE, please notify me as soon as possible and no later than Sunday, January 3rd. I have provided a link here where  you may order the book from Amazon.com OR if notify me then I will place an order and have the books available for purchase in the office by January 6th.

Beginning Sunday, January 10th, we will meet in the Berlin Room from 9:45 to 10:45. On January 3rd, all interested may meet for an overview of the process we will employ, then on the 10th we will dive into the first two chapters of this wonderful little book.

Tax-free gift option for 2015

For those over age 70½, it is once again possible to make tax-favored charitable gifts from IRA accounts.

A total of up to $100,000 can be transferred directly from IRAs to Saint Paul's Church  before December 31, 2015, free of federal income tax. There may also be state income tax savings. You won't get a tax deduction for the transfer, but you will be able to exclude the transfer amount from your Adjusted Gross Income.

To make such gifts, it is important not to withdraw funds prior to a gift, but distribute them directly from an IRA to one or more qualified charities by December 31, 2015. For those with check writing privileges on their accounts, this may be the most efficient way to make gifts directly from an IRA. This also applies to gifts previously made in 2015 directly from your IRA to a charity.

Check with your IRA administrator or your professional advisors for more information and  contact Meredith Beach, or by telephone at 706-724-2485, ext. #204.

You have an opportunity to make a substantial impact on the mission and ministries of our Parish. Wishing all of you a very Blessed Christmas and holiday season!
