Dawei Li

EECS Ph.D. Student Dawei Li has been awarded the  Universities Research Association (URA) Visiting Scholar Fellowship. Dawei is the 1st ever recipient of this prestigious fellowship from Northwestern EECS Department and the 2nd winner in the history of URA's fellowship from Northwestern.

 

In his 3rd year of PhD studies and under advivement by Prof. Seda Ogrenci-Memik, Dawei, a member of the Ogrenci Memik Lab will spend this fellowship to fund a 10-month visit at the  Fermi Labs. Dawei, Prof. Memik, and Dr. Ted Liu from Fermi have an ongoing collaboration on thermal analysis of next generation embedded chips in instrumentation equipment for high energy physics experiments at Fermi. Prof. Manijeh Razeghi

Prof. Manijeh Razeghi delivered a Plenary Talk at the International Quantum Cascade Laser School and Workshop 2014 (IQCLSW) held September 7th-12th in Policoro, Italy. In addition to her presentation, titled, "Quantum Cascade Laser: From Tool to Product", she also was named Session Chair of the Mid-IR QCLs session.

 

The International Quantum Cascade Laser School and Workshop 2014 aims to be a think-tank where top researchers in the field will report on recent exciting developments and brainstorm on promising new directions ranging from questions of basic device physics to applications. Read More   

Diana Palsetia

EECS Ph.D. Student Diana Palsetia has been awarded a Scholarship Grant to attend the 2014 Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing (GHC), held October 8-10 at the Phoenix Convention Center, in Phoenix, AZ.

 

Produced by the Anita Borg Institute and presented in partnership with Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), the Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing is the world's largest gathering of women technologists. GHC received an unprecedented 78% increase in the number of applicants this year, and Palsetia was among the 26% who were accepted.  Read More
