NEW IMMIGRATION EXECUTIVE ORDERS STILL DELAYED !!!

As you will recall, President Obama announced a new immigration policy which would suspend deportation of millions of immigrants in the United States. The new executive orders could affect as many as 4 ? million adults with US born children.

Another proposed portion of the plan would expand the Executive order granting deferred action to children who arrived in the United States before June 2007. The so called "Dreamers" order would be expanded to include children under 16 who entered before January 1, 2010. This would make nearly 300,000 additional immigrants eligible for deferred action.

However, a federal district court judge held up the orders and an appeal was filed to the US Circuit Court of Appeals. We have been waiting on a decision as to whether or not this court would allow the executive orders to take effect.

The court has just denied the hold or injunction that was put on the implementation of the orders. This does not mean the case is over. Additional hearings are scheduled, and ultimately, the US Supreme Court may make the final decision.

We will have to just wait and see. In the meantime, if you need more information, call Peter Loughlin at 239-643-5529 in Naples or Tom Goldman at 941-773-1523 in Bradenton to discuss this topic or other immigration options.
