SBV's Forex Policy Must Adjust To Account For All Industries' Needs

The State Bank of Viet Nam (SBV)'s foreign exchange policy will be based on macroeconomic management and harmonised with the benefits of all industries and sectors, and not exports alone.
This statement was made by the Deputy Director of SBV's Credit Department, Vo Minh Tuan.
The central bank's foreign exchange (forex) adjustment is based on three factors: current balance, capital balance and the national monetary policy's management orientation, Tuan said, adding that SBV's Department of Monetary Policy and Foreign Exchange Management were closely watching the market in order to determine the most suitable measures that can be adopted.

Sept 27 2003, 27 747's flew into Baghdad with holds full of Iraqi Dinar. They had been printed by the De La RUE company under a 120 million dollar contract. There are 6 countries where this company prints out of, England , Sri Lanka , Malta, Kenya, Germany and Spain.
They have printed currencies for 150 different countries since the 1800's. They have special printing equipment that cannot be duplicated and the Dinar has not been printed by any other source, and certainly not over printed by De La Rue.
All serial numbers have been logged and the Iraqi government has authorized their distribution for dissemination to Dealers, in country sources, countries who participated in Iraq conflict and government agencies.

THE PTB/AOP "GOOD GUYS" ARE STILL WORKING ON A SOLUTION TO MAKE SURE IQD LAND WILL BE COMPENSATED EVEN WITH THE PROBLEM OF OVERSOLD, OVER PRINTED, AND DUPLICATE SERIAL NUMBERS OF IQD CURRENTLY IN CIRCULATION.
CHINA IS INVOLVED WITH THESE DISCUSSIONS AS WELL. WHAT TOOK PLACE WITH IRAN WAS SIGNIFICANT AS AUDITING OF IQD IN IRAN IS VERY IMPORTANT IN THE PROCESS.

US official: the next battle in Baiji
They say the next big battle for Iraqi Security Forces will be for the Baiji refinery....I've worked in places like this in the past and our biggest fear was terrorist activity.....
The facilities are usually so large and there are just way too many places someone could place something like an IED or multiples of them to do significant damage....
The booby traps they could leave behind make me shudder....as for the validity of other aspects of this article....to me they remain questionable.

A total lunar eclipse will dazzle sky-watchers in the western half of North America.
Western North America will have a front-row seat on Saturday as the full moon gets painted red in the briefest eclipse this century.
The most spectacular part of the eclipse will be the totality phase, when Earth's shadow completely covers the moon and turns it an eerie red. The moon will only skirt the deepest and darkest part of Earth's shadow, or umbra, and totality could last anywhere from nine to 12 minutes.
