We are excited to introduce the First Annual RTS Impact Awards! The support of our volunteers, donors, vendors, and sponsors is so integral to the work that RTS does, and
we want to take this opportunity to say THANK YOU! Each volunteer group this year was asked to nominate a person or group for 3 categories, and we are delighted to present the winners:
Most Valuable Vendor:
Milgard Windows & Doors Milgard Windows & Doors (nominated by Greenpoint Technologies) was a key player in the success of the restoration of the home of Patrick and Pam of Phinney Ridge on Spring Rebuilding Day in April. Not only did they donate all of the windows for the project, but they also sent out an expert to train the volunteers on how to properly take out a window and reinstall new ones. Also, Mark, the Milgard representative, was more than willing to get his hands dirty and help out in any way possible during the project. Thank you, Milgard!
Outstanding Volunteer:
Bob Lewis of Concur Technologies Bob, Project Manager, was nominated by his team because "he was integral in introducing our company to RTS so we can help touch lives in our community". Bob managed a successful Rebuilding Day consisting of four home restoration projects, including homes run by Parkview Services and Compass Housing Alliance, local nonprofits that provide housing for people with disabilities and for homeless individuals, respectively. Thank you, Bob!
Best Homeowner Quote: Dena of Rainier View In May, volunteers from Winderemere Real Estate - Eastlake restored the home of Dena and her three sons living in the Rainier View neighborhood of Seattle. Volunteeers replaced doors, repaired siding, re-caulked windows, added locks to doors, and repaired holes in drywall. After the project, Dena shared: "This was better than any Christmas we have ever had. I never imagined so much would be accomplished and [my sons and I] are so grateful for all of the help and support we received during the three days the volunteers spent working on the house."
