WHS Dance Troupe

The WHS Window Dance Troupe performs ?Throwback?, a marvelous hour of dance featuring original pieces written and performed by this extremely talented student dance troupe, and includes tap, ballet, jazz and hip-hop. The cost is $7 for students and $10 for adults. You won?t want to miss this incredible show! All proceeds from Wednesday night?s performance will go to the ALS Therapy Alliance in honor of Dana Miller who lost her battle with ALS.  
Wayland Boosters Fundraiser

On Tuesday, May 26, please join your friends at The Local in Wayland and they will donate 10% of your check (minus tax and gratuity) to the Wayland Boosters. Whether you dine in or take out, come for lunch or dinner; please come celebrate an incredible year of athletic achievement at Wayland High School and Middle School. You will be supporting all of these student-athletes. Wayland Boosters is a non-profit organization supporting athletics at WHS and WMS.

After School Chinese Classes

This fall will mark the tenth year that Chinese Language and Culture classes have been offered after-school to Wayland students. Led by Coco Min Zhou of Wayland, the curriculum includes multi-level programs for K-5 students, whose primary language is English. The teachers keep learning fun through games, songs, poems, crafts, cooking, calligraphy lessons, and Chinese holiday celebrations. Questions? Open Meeting Law Training

All Residents Welcome

The Town of Wayland is sponsoring an Open Meeting Law training on Thursday May 21, 2015.  It will be held at the large meeting room at the Town Building from 7:00-9pm.  All committee and board members and department heads are strongly encouraged to attend. Residents and other town employees are also welcome. The speaker will be Atty. Lauren F. Goldberg. She is the managing partner of the law firm Kopelman and Paige. This will be a nuts and bolts class on the OML, to assist Town volunteers and staff to better understand and comply with the law. Lauren will talk about best practices and will be happy to answer all your questions. You can also send her questions in advance by emailing them to the Town Clerk at [email protected]. Memorial Day Parade

The annual Wayland Memorial Day Parade will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 25, at Wayland Middle School, and will proceed along Route 27 to Route 30 to the Lakeview Cemetery in Cochituate. For the full schedule, go to the Public Ceremonies Committee website online here

Can We Prevent Lyme Disease?

Join the Walden Forum for a discussion with Sam Telford, Professor of Infectious Disease and Global Health at Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Telford has been studying tick-borne illnesses since 1984 and is a world-renowned authority on the subject. Telford advises local, state and national organizations on public health interventions against tick and mosquito-borne infections. 

Girls Basketball & Lacrosse Clinics
July 20 - July 24, at WHS
Entering Grades 3 - 8

Elevate your game through skills-focused drills, small-sided games, and age-appropriate activities, athletes will learn both individual and team skills while gaining confidence and having fun! As both teachers and WHS varsity coaches, basketball coach Amanda Cosenza and lacrosse coach EJ Kluge have many years of camp coaching experience and understand the development of the young female athlete. Registration for the fall 2015 season is now available on-line. Don?t delay! Avoid late fee (grade 4 and up only). The fall program includes intramural soccer for children entering K, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grades and travel soccer for grades 4-8. Our emphasis at all levels is for kids to have fun learning to play soccer and to making new friends. And it is never too late to begin!
