DR. AHMAD SAKR MEMORIAL   

Dr. Ahmad Sakr
 The Shura Council invites the community to celebrate the late Dr. Ahmad Sakr's life and legacy at his memorial ceremony on Sunday, December 6th, after Salat al-Dhuhr (1:15 pm) until Salat al-Asr (3:30 pm). Imams and community leaders, along with friends from interfaith groups, will share their personal experiences and insights about Dr. Sakr's life and work.
 
We encourage and invite the community to come together to celebrate Dr. Sakr's life and legacy.  The Shura Council thanks the Islamic Society of Orange County for hosting this memorial event. We urge you to  RSVP here  in order to  help us with the logistics. Carpooling is requested to help alleviate congestion around the Masjid.

New Year Ahead
The Shura Council is profoundly grateful for the support from its members and the community throughout this year. As we begin to wind down 2015, we thank God and you for helping us accomplish: the nation's first  Masjid Operations Manual (MOM) , a robust  Prison Outreach Program  (POP) and recently launched the  Muslim Speakers Network  (MSN). These are but few of our key accomplishments. We can only sustain these programs with your continued support. Please remember Shura Council in your year-end contributions .

The Shura Council congratulates MPAC for organizing their annual unConvention, Celebrating Shared Humanity, on Sat. Dec. 5th. We encourage the community to participate and support MPAC's good work.
The Shura Council encourages area Mosques to benefit from a webinar on what Mosques can and cannot say in an election year, as tax-exempt non-profit organizations.

The community is encouraged to avail a free citizenship application seminar organized by leading community organizations.
