Join the movement & give back
December 1st, 2015

We have a day for giving thanks. We have two for getting deals. Now, we have # GivingTuesday, a global day dedicated to giving back.

On  Tuesday, December 1, 2015, charities, families, businesses, community centers, and students around the world will come together for one common purpose: to celebrate  generosity  and to give.

It's a simple idea. Just find a way for your family, your community, your company or your organization to come together to give something more. Then tell everyone you can about how you are giving. Join us and be a part of a global celebration of a new tradition of generosity.

When we heard about Giving Tuesday we couldn't wait to be a part of it. Who wouldn't want to!

I am so proud to share with you that each instructor who is teaching today has decided to forgo their pay for all classes that they are teaching and instead allow me to donate the funds to two charities: St. Baldrick's Foundation and The Angel Fund.

would like to take a moment to share with you why we chose these two charities.

We chose to donate to  St. Baldrick's Foundation  in honor of Baby Mason Silva who passed away on April 28, 2014 from  myelodysplastic syndrome and AML leukemia  just after his 1st birthday. I went to college with Alissa, Mason's mom and through  Facebook  learned of Mason's diagnosis as many of you also did. It is truly not fair that Alissa and Kevin had to say goodbye to their one year old little boy.

Did you know that only 4% of U.S. Federal Funding is solely dedicated to childhood cancer research? 4%! These children are worth more than 4%.

If you don't already follow Mason's Facebook Page  please do.  I know Alissa and Kevin are truly grateful  for your  love and support.

Please continue to help us raise awareness of childhood cancer. If you would like to make your own donation please consider doing so here as it will go in as Mason's Team.

We also chose to donate to The Angel Fund in honor of Evelyn Sutera, our very own Jessica Sutera's mother in law. Evelyn was recently diagnosed with ALS. As you may know ALS is particularly insidious because the intellect remains intact throughout the course of the disease. Victims are cruelly aware of their fate as they gradually lose the ability to control their muscles, to communicate, and eventually to breathe. Please continue
to help raise awareness of ALS and help to find a cure for this disease.

We would love to hear from you if you choose to be part of Giving Tuesday! Email us or tag us on social media and show us your good deed or charitable donation today!  Be sure to hashtag #givingtuesday :)
