Chasing a Record

WM alumni Tim Nesvold stopped by the pool recently to support Jack Dalluge, the WMHS junior who is only 0.78 seconds away from breaking Nesvold's 1980 school record for the 200 freestyle (1:48:30).

After 35 years, Nesvold holds the longest standing swimming record on the big board near the pool. Perhaps that's why Dalluge set his sights on the 200 free record more than 3 years ago.

With every practice and every meet, Dalluge has been gaining on Nesvold. In January, Dalluge broke the 2010 pool record for the 200 free with a a time of 1:49:07. Dalluge has three more opportunities to break the school record this season and appreciates Nesvold's support!

Kindergarten Round-Up
The class of 2028 got a taste of school-life at Kindergarten Round-Up. The future Kindergarteners met teachers, toured classrooms, and learned a little bit about their upcoming school year.
Continued Tradition
Members of the varsity wrestling team volunteered at WMES for a morning of wrestling during gym class. Meanwhile, gymnasts perform their routines for their classmates.
Snow Week
WMHS celebrated "Snow Week" during the last week of January. Festivities included dress-up days and a pep fest, where seniors challenged WM staff in a competitive game of basketball.

Vikings Quest To S.T.O.P. Bullying
A Vikings cheerleader and Viktor, the Vikings mascot, visited WMES in a quest to S.T.O.P. bullying. The interactive program discussed four types of bullying and the ways students should respond: Stand up, Take action, Open up, and Protect!

Busy Bees
Middle school students displayed their academic skills in the school's annual Spelling Bee and Geography Bee. Finalists competed at school assemblies where the field was narrowed down to one champion. Way to go Royals!
