Farmers Market Season is upon us! Don't miss the first Market of the season on Saturday May 2 from 7:30-12. Besides great local produce you'll have  a chance to stop by and say hi at the GTG booth--in fact, why not invite a friend who is not yet an owner to come with you to the market and bring them by the booth? We've got a new and improved set up -- so be sure to stop by.

We are still in need of volunteers to help staff our booth at the Farmers' Markets, especially in May. If you can help for a few hours, please sign up here.

In addition, our friends at the McLean County Wellness Coalition will have a FREE bike safety event taking place during the market! Enjoy FREE bike safety inspections & FREE bike registrations...plus you could win FREE helmets and bike locks! Find out more here.

Location Update
Jerica Etheridge, GTG Vice President

I tried to think of a new way to say "stick with us...we are SO CLOSE to making a site selection!" but at this point I'm not sure there is a new way. But we are...we are so close. There are just so many pieces to the puzzle in selecting the right location for Green Top to call home...for all of YOU in the Green Top community to call home...for years to come.   It's a huge decision and as your elected board we take that decision very seriously.

That leads me to what we want to say to everyone in the Green Top community...and that is thank you. Thank you for having faith in us as we make these important decisions. Thank you for being patient (or as least holding your impatience in check!) as the Board takes the necessary time to find the right location. Thank you for sharing our Facebook posts, forwarding newsletters and sharing your story about why you became an owner with your friends, family and co-workers. Thank you for hosting house parties and inviting us to speak at your neighborhood meetings, book clubs and offices. Thank you for coming to our first community meeting and every one thereafter. For stopping by our booths at various fairs, expos and farmers markets. For volunteering to help with our Outreach Committee, our Communications Committee, our Implementation Planning Committee and so many other vital committees. For stuffing envelopes and licking stamps and for data entry of new owners...thank you. And last but certainly not least, thank you to our amazing staff, Katie and Jodi, for helping us all keep sane.

There has been so much work to do to get us to this point and there is a lot of work left to come but we on the Board know that with this amazing Green Top community behind us, we can do anything we put our minds to. And this thing we've all put our collective minds to...Green Top Grocery...is going to be amazing!
