Dr. Henry Boudin

 

Henry Boudin has worked in Canada and the US for over 35 years. He also worked for 30 years with Youth Forensic Services in New Westminster. He presently continues to commute to Seattle two days a week and also works with Beverley Pugh and Associates in West Vancouver. Henry sees adults, teens and children. Over the years, he has developed a specialty working with Asperger's Disorder in people of all ages. He also has extensive experience in the area of substance abuse.

 

Dr. Boudin has four boys and grandchildren. His hobby is jazz saxophone, which he plays at a professional and semi-professional level.

Therapy by the Book?


It was a rainy afternoon at my office. I signed for a small package that was delivered by a postman. Inside the package was a book, another small packet, and a letter. The book looked vaguely familiar. The note was written by someone I had seen in therapy 20 years ago. At that time, she was a young girl - depressed. She had expressed an interest in becoming a therapist, and the book, "Letters to Simon" by I.H. Paul, which I had lent her so many years ago, was written by a therapist. The author had the book written as a series of letters to his nephew who was studying to become a psychotherapist. It was my niece, a therapist, who had originally sent it to me. Read More

Finding Comfort Around Us

 

blanket It often helps to speak with someone when we are feeling overwhelmed, stressed out, or sad. But sometimes, we cannot get in touch with anyone, and sometimes we need to change our emotional state immediately, more quickly than looking up a number - or finding our phones!

 

That's when it's important to have something around us that is associated with comfort and safety. Usually we have things around that will help, such as blankets, pictures, or books, but we don't think about it on a conscious level.
