Statement by Mayor Kriseman on the Supreme Court's ruling affirming marriage rights of same-sex couples

Today, the United States Supreme Court made history in affirming what most of us already knew: that same-sex couples have as equal a right to marriage as everyone else, that love is love.

For too long, this issue has been politically divisive. May today's ruling by the highest court in the land serve as the moment when we turn the page and embrace a future filled with hope and love.

I am pleased by the decision of the court, and look forward to celebrating this historic ruling during St. Pete Pride festivities this weekend.
