We wish all the best to Morah Hadassah Riaboy who is leaving on maternity leave. We welcome Morah Ana from daycare who will be the interim pre-school aide.
 Chanukah Play
The Chanukah Play Breakout occurred on Thursday morning. Grade 5 students dressed up as the Middot Machine and surprised every class with a middot alert and announced the return of the Marvelous Middot Machine. We are deeply grateful to Morah Miller for once again writing and leading the Chanukah Play. Thank you to Rabbi Goldenberg for his technological and creative expertise in designing the costume.

A very important message regarding the Chanukah Play:
We have changed the date of the performance to Wednesday December 9 at 6 PM. We hope this does not create any hardships or inconvenience for anyone. The time will still be at 6 PM.
All classes and students will be performing in the concert.

 Winter After School Clubs
If anyone has any suggestions for after school clubs for the winter term please email them to Rabbi Greenwald or Mrs. Anna Lourie at [email protected].
 Challah Baking for Women
The Akiva Academy Challah Bake on Wednesday October 21 was a huge success! Many thanks to Mrs. Yael Greenwald for organizing a fun, informative and inspiring evening. As one participant expressed the following morning, "That was awesome! We should do events like this more often". Participants learned about the special Mitzvah of taking Challah and when a bracha (blessing) is said upon separating a piece of challah from the dough. At the end of the evening, participants were able to take home their very own challah to bake fresh for Shabbat. Tehillim were recited for peace in Israel and around the world.
Parent Ambassador Training
We are excited to be bringing in a parent ambassador training seminar which will be held on Tuesday, November 17. Mrs. Rebecca Egolf will be coming to give a seminar to Akiva parents. Please RSVP if you are able to attend.
Parents Association
We are in the process of setting up the Parents Association which will consist of parent volunteers. We are looking to compile a list of volunteers who would be willing to be contacted for helping to organize events and special programs. If you are interested in being on the list of volunteers, please submit your name to the office.
