Zach Elder, ASF Race Team member, wins bronze at 2015 X Games

As one of only 10 Special Olympics athletes and the only athlete from the East Coast, the Adaptive Sports Foundation's (ASF) own Zach Elder was chosen to participate in the Special Olympics Unified Snowboarding dual giant slalom at the 2015 X Games on January 22nd.  Each team consisted of one Special Olympics athlete and one X Games athlete.  Zach and his teammate X Games athlete Scotty James won the bronze medal in the dual GS.  Zach attended the X Games with his volunteer coach of seven years, Megan Hughes.  As a coach for the ASF race team, Megan works with Zach and the other snowboarders on the team each weekend.

March 7, 2015
Windham Mountain Resort

The Michael Gray Memorial Ski & Snowboard Race is a great opportunity for all types of skiers and snowboarders to spend a day of fun at beautiful Ski Windham and to support the Adaptive Sports Foundation. Michael J. Gray, Jr. was a snowboard instructor with the Windham Mountain Snowsports School, when he was tragically killed in a car accident. To honor Michael's memory and dedication to snow sports, the Gray family started a memorial race in Micheal's honor. The proceeds from the race are donated to the Adaptive Sports Foundation (ASF), an organization that offers a disabled person the chance to enjoy the sport of skiing/snowboarding as much as Michael did.  Special thanks to the Gray family for all their hard work and continued support of the Adaptive Sports Foundation.
