Joyride Pant: Comfort and joy

Give your guy some running comfort this season. The Brooks Joyride Pant provides the best of everything, naturally -- warmth, moisture management, and the all-important odor resistance. But if running is out of the question, it's still the world's best comfort pant for watching football while nursing a festive hangover. And since you're the one who has to look at him, this pant's got style to boot (but don't mention that to him ... you know how guys are). Hurry on in while the shopping is easy.

NUTRITION
Ginger soothes holiday tummy distress

By Damian Bramer, Healthy Twist

Most of us, including me, indulge a bit more than usual during the holiday season. Despite my best intentions
heading into this six-week rendezvous with food and festivities, each year, without fail, I eagerly anticipate a January cleanse.
While my overall diet improves each year, my holiday indulgences also continue to improve. I have found the cleaner and more balanced I eat year-round, the more sensitive I become when I stray off course.
My stomach is always the first to tell me that my body is unhappy with my food choices. This is particularly the case when I eat foods with sugar.
I have discovered that a daily dose of ginger can help soothe my irritated stomach. Notorious for settling gastrointestinal distress, ginger also has strong antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-tumor properties.
Truthfully, ginger has been one of the harder foods for me to add in. I am not a big fan of its strong pungent flavor. As I learn more about its great medicinal properties, I have tried to find ways to enjoy it.
This year, after doing a bit of experimenting, I put together a delicious ginger tea. It is the perfect afternoon or evening treat.

Spicy Ginger Tea
2 cups hot filtered water
1 tablespoon freshly juiced ginger
1/3 cup pumpkin spiced cashew milk (recipe below)

Mix and taste. If too spicy add more hot water.

Pumpkin Spiced Cashew Milk
Soak 1 cup organic raw cashews overnight in the refrigerator. Pour off soaked water. Blend soaked cashews, 4 cups water, 2 tablespoons honey, 2 tablespoons pumpkin pie spice, 2 teaspoons pure vanilla, and a sprinkle of salt.
