Business is all about solving problems. As soon as all seems to be going well, something happens and we've got a problem. Since we're just a week away from Thanksgiving, now is a good time to stop and focus on all that we should be thankful for in our business and work life. Here are a few things that come to our minds:
We're thankful to have the opportunity to succeed. Business owners are renowned complainers about the environment for business -- taxes, regulations, rules, etc. However, compared to the rest of the world, the U.S. is a fantastic place to start and run a business. More opportunity exists here than any other place in the world. Let's celebrate it.
We're thankful for our clients. Every day we have an opportunity to provide services for a great group of businesses and the individuals who own them. These people listen to our advice, implement changes we suggest and provide referrals to others who can work with us. We appreciate the long term relationships that we've been fortunate enough to build over the years.
We're thankful for our team. The people of Fresnel Partners are dedicated, caring and lots of fun to work with. They help our clients and keep us focused on what we have to do. Without them we wouldn't be able to do a fraction of the things we accomplish.
We're thankful for the people that we know who have contributed to our success. Over the years we've learned lots of lessons about business and life from some really great colleagues and mentors. Without these people, we wouldn't be able to do the work we do today.
We're thankful for our families. They support the time we spend working and, when needed, even help us with the client work we have.
While many of the above will feel appropriate for you, we're confident that you have your own set of things and experiences to be thankful for, both outside of your business and, just as importantly related to your business. Take a moment to celebrate them over the next week. It just might make it easier to solve that inevitable business challenge that you'll be faced with at some point in the future.
