Keep Me From Fear (by Brendan Ogg)

Keep me from fear,

that cold paralysis,

the squirming nausea.

I am sick of these half eaten fingernails.  No.

I have my whole life to be afraid.

There!  With that declaration, the anvil weight of dread

falls loosely from the chain around my neck.

I have my entire life, however long it is.

I have my own eternity in a hundred years, or in an instant.

You're Invited:
Silver Linings Gala

Silver Linings Loyalty Honoree Spotlight

Sandra and Pete Bracken will be honored at our 2015 Silver Linings Gala for their loyalty to Hospice Caring over the past two decades.

The Brackens  have been involved with Hospice Caring since 1999 when Pete joined the Board of Trustees and Sandra participated in our New Volunteer Training.

Sandra has served the organization in numerous capacities.  She has volunteered as a patient caregiver, worked on the gala auction committee, helped plan the Hospice Caring gardens, and currently serves on the Board of Trustees and as the coordinator for volunteers on our garden committee.

In addition to being a past trustee, Pete served on the endowment committee, was instrumental in soliciting funds from corporations, and continues to help out in the Hospice Caring gardens.

The Brackens made a major contribution to help create the endowment fund, have listed Hospice Caring in their will, and have donated both time and treasure to support the Hospice Caring gardens.

Their love of gardening and their caring nature are enjoyed not only by those who visit the Hospice Caring gardens, but also by patients and families who have requested help with their gardens over the years.
