We'd like to say a huge Thank You to everyone who came out to the Walk to Knockout Epilepsy with Team AJ! We had a fantastic turnout with 220 walkers and we truly appreciate everyone's support! We hope you had a blast with all of us and come out again next year! Special thanks to Wegman's, Wendys, our Volunteers, Staff and Team AJ who made it a spectacular day!




    The 39th Golf Classic provides numerous opportunities for you to support this event. All proceeds will enable the Epilepsy Foundation of New Jersey to continue offering programs and services to more than 129,000 people in New Jersey with epilepsy and developmental disabilities. EFNJ is proud to announce that 96 cents of every dollar raised goes directly to over 50 programs and services across New Jersey. 

    The day will include,18 challenging holes of golf, Lunch and awards dinner, Refreshments on the course, Tournament prizes, Hole-in-one contests for an automobile, Souvenir photograph for each foursome, Silent auction, Goody bags for each participant, and more!

 Your participation and sponsorship of this golf outing support EFNJ's efforts to ensure that all people with developmental disabilities have the opportunity to achieve their fullest potential.

 

 

 

  Summer Camp Update!

 

 

Bounce Out The Stigma basketball camp is a partnership of Mighty Mike Basketball and The Family Resource Network. The goal of this collaboration is to provide children and young people, with developmental disabilities a chance to learn using basketball as the primary vehicle to overcome obstacles in life. Our purpose is for children to gain confidence and "bounce-out" their "limitations" to empower themselves.

Attention School Personnel!
Online Training is now Available!

  For School Personnel:

Designed specifically for school personnel, this 1 hour long training program that teaches seizure recognition and first aid is now available online! The training provides essential information for anyone working with students with epilepsy in a social and academic atmosphere.


 

For School Nurses:

This 3 hour long training is designed to provide resources and supplementary materials that will assist the school nurse with better managing and supporting students with seizures and epilepsy. The training will also prepare the school nurse to educate their school personnel about epilepsy.

2015 Camp Counselor Positions Available for Camp NOVA and Bounce Out the Stigma!

 

Our programs  primary purpose is to provide a social and interactive camping experience for individuals throughout the lifespan with epilepsy and other developmental disabilities.  It also provides respite to family members and caregivers.  Planned program activities will include a variety of physical, social, and recreational opportunities.

 

The Epilepsy Foundation of NJ is looking to employ counselors to work at the camp for this unique and rewarding experience.  EFNJ is seeking mature, motivated, individuals who will be responsible for the campers.  The counselors will be responsible for campers and participation in camp activities and will report to the Director.

 

Each Counselor will be required to participate in the one-day training session and webinar from home. The applicant should have experience with individuals with special needs or a strong interest in learning.

Young Gourmet Cooking Classes Coming to Toms River
 
Young Gourmet is a new cooking experience created by the Family Resource Network's Get FIT program and the Center on Nutrition and Disability, with funding from the Elks of Toms River. With a focus on healthy eating and wellness, all sessions are taught by a Get FIT Nutritionist who is also ServSafe Certified. Young Gourmet promotes the importance of healthy living among youth while enjoying the company of their peers. As an integrated program, Young Gourmet welcomes youth with and without disabilities ages 13-21 to join us each week in Toms River, NJ.
