WMC is thrilled to be part of the  5th annual Doors Open Milwaukee.  This city-wide event encourages people to be a tourist in their hometown and go behind the scenes of some of Milwaukee's most beloved landmarks. Mark your calendars for  Saturday, Sept 19 from 10am-2pm or Sunday, Sept. 20 from 1-5pm to join the fun at the War Memorial.  We are planning many unique experiences.  Check out the list of 150 buildings here, but make sure that WMC tops your itinerary!  It will be a great weekend to bring a friend to see all the changes at your War Memorial Center.

Veteran Story Project
"You make a decision that changes your life for the next 9 years. It's scary."

Allison Kitzerow was a 20-year old student at Marquette University when the Iraq War pulled her away from campus and into the middle east for day one of that war.
This is her Veteran Story.  WATCH ALLISON'S STORY.

Allison is one of 16 stories collected by the War Memorial as part of our pilot program the Veteran Story Project. It's a fascinating look at what duty and honor really mean to the men and women of Wisconsin who serve.
