Don't miss our Camp Newman style Shabbat service created and led by our very own EESY senior youth group board on January 8 at 7:00 PM!  Get to know our amazing teen leaders and enjoy music led by our very own Camp Newman song leader Robin Kofl.  We assure you it will be a great service for all ages and one your children will definitely enjoy. We look forward to seeing you!

Join our Religious School families for a back from winter break delicious taco bar lunch provided by Brotherhood.  Come tour the Temple and facilities, meet our clergy, leadership, and congregation, and have fun in the process.  Prospective members are welcome and we'd love to see you there.  No RSVP is required.  The fun begins at 12:30 PM.

These brief services geared for preschool aged children are led by Rabbi Dana Magat and Cantor Meeka Simerly and include blessings, songs, stories, and prayers in the sanctuary. Thanks to the generosity of our Sisterhood group,   a delicious, complimentary dinner is served after the service.
Mitzvah
Mitzvah Day 2016

On Mitzvah Day, you can donate at the collection centers, volunteer for hands-on activities, and learn at the information booths.  Everyone can participate on Mitzvah Day.  A delicious lunch provided by Sisterhood will be available for all who participate!  
Religious School students must participate with their families.
Activities include: Making care packages for shelters and homeless individuals, preparing and serving food for a residence shelter, making sedar plates for Jewish Family Services, conducting Temple clean-up and enhancement projects, visiting seniors at Chai House and much much more!
Donation opportunities include: Goodwill donations, bike donations for Good Karma, EESY will be collecting coins, The Lions' Club will be collecting reading glasses, Reading Partners will be collecting gently used books, e-waste collections, and food donations for Second Harvest.

Enjoy a 6:30 PM wine and cheese reception followed by a 7:30 PM Rock Shabbat service with Craig Taubman!  This service has no charge and is open to all.  There will be a special meet & greet with Craig Taubman during the oneg and CDs will be available for purchase.

Mah Jongg Cards 2016

Calling all Mah Jongg Players!  It is that time again... Time to reorder cards to the 2016 year.  Get the call out to all your Mah Jongg players and games.  Gather their information and money and remit to Harriet Saltzman, via the Sisterhood mailbox in the Temple Administrative Office.

This is a Sisterhood fundraiser and the more individual card ordered, the more money they get.  Checks may be made out to Temple Emanu-El Sisterhood.

$8.00 for standard (small) card and $9.00 for the large print card.

This is a fun night for families interested in our program to come check us out.  Our program accepts children ages 2-6.

Silicon Valley Holocaust Survivor's Association

A bagel brunch is held the second Sunday of the month for Holocaust survivor's and their families.  There is always some type of entertainment and/or educational programming too!  Held at the APJCC in the Adult Lounge, admission is free with a recommended $5 donation.

Syrian Refugee Crisis

Learn about the Syrian Refugee Crisis and hear what one man believes the the US policy should be.  Vlad Khaykin has been Associate Director of the Central Pacific Region of the Anti-Defamation League since January 2014. Born in the former Soviet Union, he arrived in the US with his family in 1989 and was raised in the Bay Area. He has dual Master's degrees in Non-Profit Leadership and Judaic Studies from Brandeis University.
Ending Human Trafficking: Cultural Approaches

Leading up to the Super Bowl, and in creating on-going initiatives, Santa Clara County is making huge strides in combating human trafficking. Come hear this group of powerful advocates, who will share cultural approaches to solving human trafficking, and how the justice and legislative branches are working hand in hand with the community to make a real difference.
 
Speakers include Dr. Merav Shmueli from the Israeli Ministry of Justice, Congressman Mike Honda and DA Jeff Rosen. Held at the Levy Family Campus, APJCC Auditorium.
