GVR Update for January 7, 2016
Facility Planning 'Listening Sessions'
Set for Jan. 8 & 22

Do you have big or small ideas for improving GVR's centers and how we use our space?  If you could improve the space in our centers, what would you do? Here is your opportunity to contribute your thoughts and ideas!

GVR and representatives from WSM Architects, the firm we hired to conduct a comprehensive assessment of our facilities and develop a long range Master Facility Plan, are hosting several "listening sessions" in January:
  • 10 am-Noon, Friday, Jan. 8 at Canoa Hills (NOTE TIME CHANGE!)
  • 1-3 pm Friday, Jan. 8 at West Center (Madera Vista & Continental Vista Centers also will be discussed)
  • 9-11 am Friday, Jan. 22 at Desert Hills
Did you know?

To offer you the opportunity for a full 30-minute workout, we have reprogrammed the bikes, treadmills and elliptical machines in our fitness centers.

Adopt-A-Highway

GVR and the GVR Foundation have partnered with Arizona Department of Transportation's Adopt-a-Highway program, and have permits for three sections along I-19 and Frontage Rd. This is a great opportunity for everyone in Green Valley to keep it "green" and clean.

We need a small army of volunteers to help us pick up litter and roadside debris.  Please join us at 8 am Saturday, January 30!   Our group will meet in the north parking lot of GVR's Member Services Center. We provide the safety vests, litter sticks, bags and instructions. Coffee and donuts will await you!  We just need people power. We need YOU!

To volunteer, contact Melanie Stephenson at  melanie@gvrec.org

Email Communications with your
GVR Board of Directors

The GVR Board of Directors expects open communications with its members, whether it be at its meetings or through email.  The Board is guided by an Email Policy for the Board of Directors.   As a centerpiece of the Email Policy, GVR member issues, comments and concerns intended for the Board of Directors should be sent to board@gvrec.org.

The purpose of the Policy is threefold: (1) to ensure that no one Director speaks on the Board's behalf; (2) to allow questions to be directed to the appropriate person to expedite response time; and (3) to create a single depository for email communications in order to preserve such records in the event of litigation.  It is also important to note that emails addressed to the Board that are received by GVR are forwarded to all Directors. The GVR Board Email Policy was adopted in 2014 on the advice of legal counsel.

GVR Members may also address the Board on any topic for two (2) minutes at the end of a regular or special meeting of the Board.
