Choral Evensong with Festive Reception
Sunday, May 31, 5 p.m. 
Holy Comforter's Adult Choir and Choristers will combine to present an evening service of song and Scripture. This beautiful and moving liturgy will be followed by a festive reception. Music will include Preces and Responses by William Smith, Evening Canticles by Peter Aston, and organ music by Gerre Hancock and Charles Villiers Stanford. Questions? Please contact David Kelley.

Junior High Beach Weekend
Friday, June 12-Sunday, June 14    
All 7th, 8th and 9th graders are invited to our annual beach weekend retreat at Cape Henlopen State Park, near Rehoboth. The group will leave the church at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, June 12 and return Sunday, June 14 at 2:00 p.m. Come, have fun in the sun, bring a friend and enjoy the end of school year in style! Toiletries Drive for Samaritan Ministry

Our Sunday School students are holding a toiletries drive for the homeless clients of Samaritan Ministry of Greater Washington. Please donate shampoo, deodorant, soap, or another toiletry items to support this drive. These items are not covered by food stamp assistance, and are greatly needed by our homeless brothers and sisters. For more details, please contact Susan McGuire or Ben Gregg.

NEW Last Call for Parish Directory Photos!
Deadline is June 5   
If you did not get your photo taken for the Parish Directory and/or are new to the Parish and would like to have your photo included, it's not too late! Please submit a high quality color photo, 5"x7" or smaller, or digital file sized 250 dpi at 2.5 inches wide--preferably vertical head and shoulder view. These photos will be printed "as is" and can not be returned. If you are using a professional photo, you must complete a Publication Authorization Form, found in the church office. Please email photos to Julie Mehigan or drop off hard-copy photos at the church office.
NEW ECW Has Ministry Openings

ECW (Episcopal Church Women) currently has openings for two important and rewarding volunteer positions:

  • Remembrance (Funeral) Receptions
  • Cloister Shop

Both positions are part time and can be filled by one individual or by a job-sharing team. Read more about the duties of these positions here. Remember, all women of the church are automatically members of ECW.

NEW ECW Needs Confirmation Reception Help

This year, the reception honoring the 2015 confirmation class and the Bishop will be held on Sunday, June 7 after the 11:00 a.m. service. The ECW needs assistance before, during, and after the reception. If you would like to lend a hand for this very special event, please visit "Time to Sign Up!" NEW New Regional Life Committee

You're invited to be a part of the Region 5 Regional Life Committee! This group was formed to explore concrete ways to encourage the parishes and people in our Region to be more of an intentional community with a shared life.

The committee welcomes any member of a Region 5 parish and any Region 5 clergy to participate, and our hope is to involve all nine parishes. Our first region-wide project, entitled "Teen Sex Trafficking: Hiding In Our Neighborhood" will take place in the fall, and will feature speakers involved in the fight against trafficking in Fairfax County. Grant Application Form Due May 31  
Parents--now is the time to sign your child up for a youth summer camp grant! ECW is again offering a $100 grant to each parish youth who will be attending Shrine Mont or another Christian camp this summer. This is a great encouragement for kids to have both fun and a good Christian experience during their summer vacation. Application forms are available for download here. Please don't delay!
Pathfinders Young Adults Group

Prevention of Adult Misconduct Workshop: 12:30-3:30 
All volunteers who work with children and/or adults should have this training. Coffee and breakfast food will be provided for the morning session; sandwiches and drinks for the afternoon session. The training is free. Register online here.
