County Alcohol Coalition Reviews Strategy 

State's Attorney Dario Broccolino, HC DrugFree's Executive Director Joan Webb Scornaienchi, and Judge William V. Tucker, leadership members of the Howard County Alcohol Coalition, met to review the coalition's strategic plan to lower the incidence of underage drinking in the county. The plan includes extra police patrols at targeted Merriweather Post Pavilion events and the launching of an upcoming media campaign.

HC DrugFree's Teen Advisory Council (TAC) held its final meeting of the school year on June 2. Teens reviewed the accomplishments of the year and discussed their plans for the upcoming school year. Overdose Response Training
On behalf of the Howard County Health Department, HC DrugFree is sharing information about the upcoming overdose response training. Participants will learn how to recognize, respond and prevent an opioid overdose, including how to administer intra-nasal nalaxone, a prescription medication that reverses an opioid overdose. Participants will receive a certificate to administer nalaxone, a nalaxone kit and a prescription for nalaxone. For more information call 410-313-6202.
