House Update: March 2015
Michelle's Message

Hello,

It's been an exciting month here at the Ronald McDonald House of Indiana! We've recently teamed up with B105.7 as their 2015 featured charity within their newly formed B'Cause initiative. We are thrilled to be a part of this effort and are very appreciative of their support as we work to raise awareness of our mission and our impact in the community. Earlier this month, they held a very successful on-air web-a-thon that attracted over 70 new supporters of RMHI with each contribution generously matched by NextGear Capital.

In this newsletter, you'll read about some of the wonderful organizations and third-party events coming up to support the House and our mission of keeping families together. It's this kind of support that allows us to provide comfort and care to over 5,000 families like the Hintons, whose story you will find in this newsletter. Please take a moment to watch their video and visit their blog.

We are the House that love built and thanks to your continued support we are the House that love sustains.

Thank you!

Michelle Study-Campbell, CEO

Providing Comfort, Care and Support
At the Ronald McDonald House, our focus is on families - specifically families with a critically ill or injured child. Sometimes families know in advance that they need to stay with us, other times they arrive in an emergency situation with nothing but the clothes on their back. Every night, 58 families call the Ronald McDonald House of Indiana home. Chad and Emmalee Hinton stayed with us for three weeks while their daughter Elena received medical treatment at Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health. "It was a haven for us," says Emmalee. "It was a place where we could go to have a conversation with our family and have a meal and get a bit of rest. It was our quiet escape, even if it was just for a few minutes."

Sign up Today to Volunteer at the Carmel Marathon

We are excited that the Carmel Marathon has once again chosen the Ronald McDonald House of Indiana as their charitable partner for 2015! The Carmel Marathon will take place April 18 at The Palladium at the Center for the Performing Arts in Carmel, IN.

"We're honored to partner with the Ronald McDonald House again for 2015," said Todd Oliver, president of Carmel Road Racing Group and race director for the Carmel Marathon Weekend. "The support they provide, no questions asked, is unbelievable. The Carmel Marathon room at the House is awesome and we have received letters from families staying in the room. Our 2014 marathon winner, Jesse Davis, was on hand at the dedication and disclosed that he stayed at RMH during his brother's illness. We are excited to continue the partnership and know that families staying at the House will be watching to see if Jesse can win his 5th consecutive Carmel Marathon."

To say thank you for their generous support, we would like to provide volunteers at the race. Please help by volunteering as a Course Marshal. You can choose the locations as listed. When signing up please choose the Ronald McDonald House in the drop down box when asked if you are volunteering as a member of a group.

Volunteer Benefits Include:

The volunteer t-shirts will be available for pick-up at the Ronald McDonald House on Friday, April 17 from 10 a.m. - 9 p.m.

All Ronald McDonald House volunteers will receive a special gift from the House!
