Farewell, Ms. Kate!
As some of our patrons know, Kate Mahoney, who has been our Children's Librarian for the past two years, will be leaving us soon. We wish Ms. Kate the very best of luck on her new journey!
Ms. Kate wanted to say good-bye to our patrons:
"It is with mixed emotions that I announce that I am resigning from my position of Children's Librarian and leaving Denville Public Library on Friday, August 21st. I am excited to be moving on to a full-time position as the new Youth Services Librarian at Riverdale Public Library. It will sadden me to say good-bye to all of the families and kids I have been so lucky to get to know through storytimes, craft programs, the summer reading club, and more over the past two years. But to the kids I have had that pleasure of getting to know: thank you! Because of you, I believe I am a better librarian, more creative, even more patient and prepared to move on to my new library. Thank you for the memories and all the opportunities to grow and laugh with you!"
Fall Storytime Sessions
We can't believe that fall is just around the corner! Since we know our patrons like to plan in advance, we are releasing our Fall Storytime schedule. Ms. Maryellen and Ms. Chris will be covering storytimes until we hire a new Children's Librarian, at which time we will divide up the schedule.
Fall storytimes will run from the week of Monday, September 21st through the week of Monday, October 26th.
Denville residents may begin signing up on our website on Monday, August 31st. Out-of-town residents may sign up beginning Tuesday, September 8th.
SCHEDULE:
Baby & Me (ages 6 months to 24 months - very short stories, no craft):
Wednesdays at 9:30 am or Thursdays at 9:30 am
Storytime for Ages 2 and Up (stories and craft):
Mondays at 10:30 am or Fridays at 10:30 am
Storytime for Ages 3 and Up (longer stories, more complex craft, use of scissors):
Tuesdays at 11:00 am
or Wednesday afternoons at 2:00 pm
Fall Calendar
Speaking of planning ahead, our September schedule (and some of October, too!) is available on our Google Calendar, which you can access on the bottom of our website or by clicking here. Events occasionally change before they become available to our patrons, but this will give you a good idea of all the fun we have in store for you! As always, event registrations typically begin about 10-14 days before each event. Thank you!
