Good Morning, Good Afternoon, Good Evening!

 

If you are new to our club and this is the very first email you are getting from me I want to thank you for joining the Mullica Hill Women's Triathlon Club. This is the sixth year our tri club has been functioning. Every year I see new faces at the kick-off meeting, I watch those people go on their first bike ride and jump in the lake for the very first time since they were a kid. As summer wanes, I witness all the new friendships that have been formed. This is my favorite part of the club... but yes, we do swim, bike and run and we have PLENTY of opportunities for you to join us.

 

This is the "slow" time for training for the club, although we do have about 150 women swimming every week. The triathlon season really kicks in during the months of April-September. During those months we will offer workouts six days per week, sometimes twice per day. Our workouts are open to ALL levels, abilities and ages. We will have special events, various educational events and our fair share of social events. All workouts will be posted on our club calendar on our website. I will be scheduling a class called JUMP for February (cardio-jumping at an indoor trampoline park) and FLIP (teaching existing swimmers flip turns) in Feb. The sign up is always posted on Facebook and linked up to the yellow button on our website.

 

EMAILS: I will send emails twice per month.  They will automatically go out on the 1st and 15th of the month.   Not everyone can get our emails due to security settings on their computer. I will make every effort to put them on our website as well as Facebook. My emails have waaaaay too much information and I type too fast ( 94 wpm - if you are wondering) so forgive me for run-on sentences and excessive use of punctuation marks. My emails will keep you updated on EVERYTHING that is going on.  It is also a very good idea to like our Facebook page.  It is extremely active and will give you the most current information. 

 

KICK OFF: Our big event that is coming up is our kick off meeting! It will be on Monday, February 9, 2015 at Masso's Crystal Manor in Glassboro, NJ. If you are new to the club, we will save you two rows of seats up front. If you are an existing member we do have many changes in store for 2015 that we will share!  The presentation is followed by a wild and crazy raffle. We typically have over 100 baskets to raffle off and I promise you we are QUICK!   We will also be pulling tickets for MY RESOLUTION. We are very considerate of time and will only keep you from 7- 9 PM. This is an extremely popular event ( like 400 people popular) so we suggest you car-pool because parking will be tight.  

 

BASKETS: We still need some basket donations, if you are interested in donating a basket please click on the yellow button on the front page of our website. We have some great prizes already including free entries to pretty much any race you can think of, Flyers tickets, Phillies tickets, Broadway Shows, Magic Shows, Spa days, Money Trees. One hundred percent of the money raised at the basket raffle will go back to our club and used to directly support members and/or our community and surrounding towns. Tickets will be 1 sheet for $20 and 3 sheets $40. If you can't make the kick off - no worries! We will have two newbie nights for everyone new and nervous or just simply want to know more about our club.

 

SPONSORSHIP- Our 2015 sponsorship drive is happening now. If you own a small/large business and would like to sponsor us please contact Michelle Powell @ [email protected]. All of the details are on our website. Sponsorship starts at $200 and is in excellent opportunity to provide your business exposure. Many of our sponsors are members and many of them own local, small businesses. We do ask our club to shop locally whenever possibleJ   The small business owners certainly appreciate it.

 

WORKOUTS/RACES/CALENDAR: Don't you worry your pretty little face about workouts.  I am all over it, somewhat obsessed with it. Now is the time to get ready for Spring workouts. . If you have a bike, now is the time to bring it in for a tune up. Do you need new sneakers, a new running bra. Also start thinking about your goals. Do you want to complete a 5K? Do you want to simply put your face in the water? Do you want to complete a triathlon? Once April hits we will be full steam ahead, which is why I always encourage people to join earlier.  

 

 

SIGNNG UP FOR THE CLUB: Our 2015 season runs from January 1, 2015 - December 31, 2015. Please sign up for the club early so you can take advantage of everything we have to offer. If you are a 2014 member you will stop getting emails right after the kick-off meeting (sorry). Most workouts, athletic events and social events require membership in MHWTC. That is it for now! Stay warm and dry and when the sun does come out, try to get your 15 minutes of Vitamin D. I am a big fan of Vitamin D.
