Valley Wide Business after Hours May 20!

 

The annual Valley Wide Chamber Business after Hours is being held Wednesday, May 20, 2015 in Penticton. Join 400 + business leaders from around the Okanagan!  

 

TICKETS: $25 including tax. Ticket allows admission, 2 complimentary refreshments and a light appetizer from participating food vendors.  

 

VENDORS: $85 plus GST. Payment in full must accompany the application form to reserve booth space. Booths (10?10) will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Exhibitors must be Chamber members. Vendors will be provided with an 8-foot plastic uncovered table. Please note: This is an outdoor event and power is not provided. DOWNLOAD A VENDOR APPLICATION.

Grasslands Nursery under new ownership

 

Lauren Forsyth and Michael Hughes are the new owners of Grasslands Nursery. They purchased the business from Toni Boot, who last year won the Sustainability Leader Award at the Summerland Business Awards. The new owners will be continuing the nursery's dedication to environmentally sustainable practices, adding organic produce to the gardening products and services they offer.  

Wouda's Bakery to open Summerland location at Granny's Fruit Stand

 

Trevor and Meghan Brown have exciting plans for their first season as the new owners of Granny's Fruit Stand. The fruit stand will continue to sell fresh, local fruits and vegetables, ice-cream, gelato, as well as Summerland Sweets syrups and jams. However, fans of Wouda's Bakery in Penticton are excited that Granny's will also be the home of Wouda's new Summerland location. Extensive renovations are ongoing and they are scheduled to open their doors in May.

Chef Bradley Clease is the new executive chef at Local Lounge * Grille. Brad and his wife Lindsay were the original creators/owners of the Vanilla Pod restaurant which began its existence in Summerland, back in the early 2000's. Since then the couple's culinary travels have taken them to notable kitchens around BC, the Pacific Rim, Bahamas and most recently Bermuda. Now back in the South Okanagan, Chef Brad is developing new menu items that reflect his passion for local ingredients and "Farm to Fork" cuisine.

Renovations to the reception area

Summerland Dental Centre is celebrating their grand re-opening BBQ April 24 after extensive renovations. Along with opening up their reception area, they've added more hygiene chairs to accommodate dental emergencies, as well as a new crown milling machine that will allow for same-day service for their clients. In addition to these changes, Summerland Dental has welcomed Dr. Laura Bowman, and expanded their hours on evenings and Saturdays. The grand re-opening celebration is Friday, April 24 from 3-6pm.

Beauty Box Studio & Esthetics by Nicole to host Grand Opening April 25

 

Copious door prizes, appies, refreshments and general jubilation is the plan for the grand opening of the Beauty Box Studio & Esthetics by Nicole on Jubilee Road East, next to Yaki's Pizza & Subs.

The grand opening is April 25 from 3-7pm.  
SummerGate Winery expands, welcomes new staff

 

SummerGate Winery in Prairie Valley has expanded their operation and welcomed two new staff members. John Matthews is the new vineyard assistant and cellar hand. One of John's first large projects is the creation of the new vineyard at the Flume site above the winery.  Angela Kozlowski has also joined the SummerGate Winery team as the new Wineshop Manager and administrator. 
Delong Studio marks 25 years in business

 

Delong Studio in Trout Creek is celebrating 25 years in business. As a gift to both themselves and their customers they have undergone a dramatic overhaul of their studio, with new display cabinets and all new lighting.
