     Ethiopia Harrar

Harrar is the wild cousin of Ethiopian coffees, and this one is the wildest yet!  It is a fabulous example of high desert coffee. A dry-processed beauty, this one jumped off the cupping table and is definitely amongst the favorites.  It is a complex cup with unbelievable fruit flavors of raspberry and cherry.  It is deep and rich, with a huge body and rustic cup character.

Relationship coffee:

This coffee is sourced via one of our longest-running relationships, with Dominion Trading.  We've been working with the Dominion team since 2008 to source all of our Ethiopian coffees.  Dominion runs New Covenant Foundation, a non-profit that invests the profits of coffee brokering into Ethiopian producer communities.

Happy Thursday!

Here is a little something to keep in the back of your head.  On August 10th, Muddy Dog Roasting Company will be participating in The Familiar Supper Club's "Sweet Corn and Swine" event.  Below is a statement of what The Familiar Supper Club is all about...

"Our Mission is to utilize North Carolina's bounty in the peak of it's season while allowing our farmers to grow on their own accord.  We believe in a chef's responsibility to near 100% product utilization. This is not just "Farm to Fork" cuisine; this is Nose to Tail and Leaf to Root.

Join us to enjoy our version of Heart to Hand Cooking in the modern era."

The time of year is quickly coming upon us where we will be taking our daughters back to college.  So, here is your fair warning...The roastery will be closed on Thursday, August 20th and Friday, August 21st.  Also note that we will NOT be attending either farmers' market that weekend.  Please plan accordingly so there are no "coffee emergencies" while we are gone.  It's not often that we need to close up shop, so we greatly appreciate your understanding when we do.

Have a great weekend!
