For a week prior to every packing party I worry about how many volunteers will come, and how much we will have to pack. Don't know why, just do. This past Saturday there were well over 100 men, women and children who came to sort, pack, seal and stack boxes of clothing, shoes, toys, stuffed animals, blankets, bedding, school supplies, computers, and other things people no longer need.

It was like an ant hill with every ant assuming at least one task. Within three hours the swarm packed, sealed, and loaded 265 large boxes that filled a 24 foot truck and then some, requiring two trips to the warehouse.

Every box you see is ours.

A few stayed and waited for more donations to arrive.

The shipment of rice from Stop Hunger Now, enough for 285,000 meals, has already been approved and is on its way to Kabul. The thirteen pallet shipment of dog and cat food for the animal rescue non profit organization located in Kabul, NOWZAD is being assembled.

It's a time to celebrate, which is why I bought a pound of Sees caramel chocolates with almonds.  It's a step up from Snickers bars and a daily challenge to eat just one. Thus far, I've failed.

Thank you!! -- Enjoy the holidays,

Budd
