Dear Readers,
Welcome to our final
Connections
edition of 2015! We have loads of great info within, so please read all the way to the end!
Our
2016 Membership Renewal
is well underway! We remind and encourage you to pay your membership dues before 2016 to be entered into our draw for a $500 donation to your charity of choice. What a wonderful opportunity to give back this season! If you have already paid, Thank You; you have been entered. Please watch for your membership package in the mail containing your updated decals and event vouchers.
Please be advised that the
Kelowna Chamber will be closed fo
r
the holidays
from noon on Thursday, Dec. 24
until 8:30 am Monday, Jan.
4, 2016, when we reopen.
We've found that very few people do business at the Chamber during the holiday season, so it will give us all some time to spend with our families and recharge for an exciting 2016.
Wishing you and yours all the best this season,
The Kelowna Chamber Team

Technology in BC is Thriving
Funding, Strategy and 1st Annual Summit
Last week we were pleased to hear of the Provincial government's announcement of a $100-million venture capital fund for B.C.'s technology sector. This, paired with the BC Jobs Plan, will provide entrepreneurs and start-up tech companies needed access to capital funding, enabling them to become future job-creators and thus strengthening ours and fellow communities in our province.
This fund is the foundational piece to the
strategy that was developed in response to feedback from the tech sector about what was needed to encourage success and growth.
The full strategy will be released at the first #BCTECH Summit (January 18 - 19, 2016 in Vancouver) . The Summit will mark
British Columbia's biggest ever technology business conference, and
bring together entrepreneurs, investors, industry, researchers, students, government and members of the public to build on existing networks and make new connections.
For more info on the summit or to register, go to
bctechsummit.ca. Early Bird Discount ends December 18th.
