SUMMER RED
We are excited to announce that the Ramsey Community School's Summer RED program was a big success!  The program ran at Tisdale School, complementing Summer Sensations, with a before-camp option as well as an after-camp option.  In beforecare, students arrived in the air conditioned cafeteria, brought breakfast if they liked, colored, played board games, read, and socialized with friends.  They then entered Summer Sensations camp at 9:00am.  When camp ended at 12:30pm, students transitioned into aftercare.  Aftercare included thematic units - a series of activities across the curriculum, including science, math, language arts, and more, that are centered around one theme.  This year's u nits included transportation, oceans, and insects/farms.  It was educational, enriching, and fun!  Click  on the link below to find out about our terrific 2015 McFaul Environmental Center  trips!

 DATER RED
September at Dater RED has been filled with new and exciting activities!  Everyone is working together to become great friends. Everyday Mrs. "T" gives the students new challenges like Math Mondays' practical problems, Trivia Tuesdays, What's the Word Wednesdays, Thoughtful Thursdays (Who wrote the quote?), and their all time favorite, Film Fridays when they all get to vote on a film to watch.  They have lots more planned for October wit h their exciting Mancala, Stratego and new this year, Scrabble tournaments! On the left, Mrs. Waharaka playing Mancala with our Dater RED students.  On the right, one of  Dater RED's favorite activities, building with Legos!

HUBBARD RED
Hubbard RED welcomed their new and returning students with open arms.  Since their first order of business was, of course, "Getting To Know You", they decorated their door with smiling self portraits of all the students. The weather has been glorious allowing outdoor play to be their favorite time of day.  So far, hockey and soccer are the favorites for both boys and girls.  The playground equipment, hoola-hoops, jump ropes and sidewalk chalk art are close behind.  They have begun their outdoor talent shows again, attracting budding singers, actors and comedians alike.  It's quite enterta ining to watch.  They have also started learning about apples and other foods of the fall season. They will learn to track their favorites using a bar chart.

TISDALE RED
The Tisdale RED program has started with the largest number of students ever.  It has been so exciting seeing all of the returning faces along with siblings of the current and graduated students.  We have been able to enjoy all of our favorite outdoor ac tivities because of the beautiful weather we have been having. Playing ball, drawing with chalk, and hula hooping all over the black top has been enjoyed by all.  Golf is in full swing and many of our RED students are having fun learning to play.  We are looking forward to our annual pumpkin picking activity, along with the wonderful donuts and cider that are provided.

ENRICHMENT
Painting for Kids at Dater
Ms. Giotta is once again teaching her always popular art class! Students are learning how to mix color, use texture, and explore color theory and correction techniques on still life and photographic studies such as animals, landscapes, portraits and abstract designs.

Painting for Kids will be offered once again in the spring. Look for the details in our spring RCS catalog and sign up early as classes fill quickly!

TGA Golf
Golf enrichment classes are underway at Dater, Hubbard, and Tisdale schools.  The TGA curriculum utilizes drills and language that make it so much fun for kids to learn golf. The students are learning the basics and fundamentals of the sport all while getting ready and prepared to play on a golf course.

Pumpkin Fairs at Hubbard & Tisdale
Both Hubbard and Tisdale's Pumpkin Fairs will take place on Tuesday, October 20th.   Our RED students will be able to participate within the aftercare setting and enjoy apple cider, donuts and pumpkin picking!

Bubblemania!
Professional entertainment with high quality visual art and practical, age-appropriate science!  "Bubblemania:  Science, Art, & Comedy" will be coming to DaterRED, Hubbard RED and Tisdale RED on the half days in November.  All ages learn how bubbles form, why they're spherical, how to make a cube bubble and the science of bubble bursting - each topic related to the physical laws of the natural world.  Older grades learn to appreciate the practical applications of diverse bubbles in everyday life and are actively involved in fun demonstrations of molecular bonding and surface tension.

Winter Sensations
This winter let your child try something new or experience more of something they love with a six week enrichment program.  In a Winter Sensations workshop children can have something fun and exciting to do - explore, discover, create!  Look for more information and registration forms soon!

Garden Arts & Science
is coming to Hubbard and Tisdale in January as a part of Winter Sensations. Students will learn and discover the natural science of planting, how food is grown, and how recycling, the environment, and animals play a part in our garden.

More classes are being added and more information will be available soon!
