Sports Access: Second Hearing Scheduled

Greetings!  Sports Access Hearing

House Education Chairman Delegate Robert Tata of Virginia Beach has scheduled a second subcommittee hearing to review Delegate Rob Bell's sports access bill, HB 2395, from the 2011 session. The hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, October 4, 2011, at 10 a.m. in the General Assembly Building, House Room D.

Delegate Bell extends an invitation to homeschoolers who would like to show their support by attending the meeting. The rules for public comment have not yet been set. If you are interested in attending, please let me know by e-mailing me at support@heav.org. I will send further details as they develop and communicate your interest to Delegate Bell.

With warm regards,

HEAV'S POSITION
HEAV is neutral on sports access legislation, but we support a homeschooling parent's right to make sports decisions for their family. We will be carefully monitoring the legislation to make sure the language is compatible with homeschool freedoms and there are no additional restrictions on homeschoolers who do not participate in sports access.
