When you think back you'll realize that you've been  trying to control the same types of weeds in the same areas of your lawn year after year.  Why is this? 

 The answer is right under your feet, it's the soil!  In a recent Timely Tips we discussed the benefits that are derived when Mag-I-Cal is spread on your lawn.  Mag-I-Cal has ten times the soil de-acidifying power of lime. Mag-I-Cal works with the soil chemistry to balance your soils pH.  When the soil is acidic weeds will  thrive and grass plants suffer.  Raise the soil pH into the neutral zone (6.5-7.0) and the grass will thicken and out compete the weeds. 

There is another important soil consideration that our Love Your Lawn-Love Your Soil addresses. In the upper six inches of  your lawn soil, trillions of beneficial soil microbes breakdown soil nutrients and the lawn fertilizer you apply.  Grass plant roots use specific organic secretions to attract and feed these microorganisms.  Once Love Your Lawn - Love Your Soil has restored soil life and activated your soils biology, the grass plants increase their root mass and depth. 

The end result is that your lawn grasses (such as those found in our Black Beauty  Mixture)  rapidly fill in bare spots and push the weeds out of your lawn, giving you a beautiful lawn you can be proud of!    

 

I have dandelions! Now What? 

 

Lawn Weed Control!  One Dandelion can produce hundreds of seeds! Lawn Weed Control can kill them! This is granular product that you may use anytime of the year when weeds are actively growing, spring through fall, on cool and warm season grasses.

 Lawn Weed Control does not contain fertilizer so it is great to use when you need to control weeds in between fertilizations or when you do not want to use fertilizer. 

 

For best results, apply to damp weed leaves. Do not mow or water the lawn for 48 hours after applying. Do not apply when rainfall is expected within 48 hours.

 

Choose this product if it has been less than 6 weeks since you have fertilized your lawn.
