  • St. Raphael's Episcopal Church in Security, awarded $1,493 to purchase tricycles, helmets, playground balls, a sensory table and other play equipment to provide for indoor and outdoor learning at St. Raphael's Place, the childcare center that the parish will launch this fall.
  • Brigit's Community Resources, a ministry of St. Brigit's Episcopal Church in Frederick, which will receive $1,000 to partially fund an AmeriCorps intern to create a curriculum for the 2016 summer camp program in the parish's community garden.

Eucharistic Ministers (formerly chalice bearer) can be trained at the parish level, by the parish priest or priest-designee. The parish is welcome to keep records of those trained and can decide how often and when people are retrained. The Bishop's Office is no longer keeping any records of Eucharistic Minister trainings, applications or certificates.

The language of love with Connie Shelley

Aug. 20, 4-6:15 p.m., St. Stephen's, Longmont

Since 2012, the U.S has about 7.5 million more Americans who are no longer active in religion. Dr. Ilia Delio believes that people are leaving faith traditions by the thousands because religion is no longer relevant to our culture. We, as spiritual directors, will be seeing more people who identify as "seekers" or as "spiritual but not religious" and, in fact, we ourselves may be categorized as such. It may now be time to begin looking to the things of the 21st century.  We may need to seek the Wisdom that will enable us to read the language of technologys; and science in order to expand the meaning of the Holy, for them as well as for us.  Sponsored by Spiritual Direction Colorado.

Cost is $15 to $30, as you are able.

Register online.

Information: 720-290-4771 or [email protected].
