Hey Too Coolers,

And it's a wrap!  What a way to end the spring season.  For those that missed Spread Your Wings this year it was once again memorable!   Kudos to all that raced and thanks for bringing your family, friends, support folks to share in the fun.

Summer is a time to recharge, to spend with family and friends, to travel or to stay home and catch up on your reading.  This summer our families will spend time traveling, backpacking, playing and visiting a certain special camp in New Mexico ;)

Whatever or wherever your summer takes you, we wish you one filled with sunshine, laughter, family, safe travels and of course a nice cold one at the end of the day.

Feel free to drop us a line.  In fact, we'd love to hear from you this summer with your stories of adventure and any pics you have with you and your 'Too Cool' gear!

Remember...Get up.  Get Out.  Get dirty!

Race on, robyn and art

Spread Your Wings Adventure Race Weekend
May 22-24, 2015

This year Spread Your Wings had 2 choices: the sprint or the 12 hour.

The 12 hr racers received their maps and utms after a 7:30 am pre race.  Then we had a general pre race at 8:30 and everyone met under the start banner for the beginning leg of the race. At 9 am, 180 racers took off down the road, ran thru Nueces Canyon, down the mine maze and back out to camp. Then the real fun started and the racers were off for a day of mountain biking, trekking, caving, archery tag, mountain boarding, rappelling, rock climbing and more.

On Sunday morning we all shared a fantastic breakfast, awards ceremony, raffle and the kids Adventure Race with over 70 junior racers participating.

The rest of the day was spent recovering, ziplining and more.  We tapped the Twisted X kegs, gave out a mess of silipint glasses from Diesel Barbershop and settled into the traditional Too Cool game show, happy hour and the camp's famous rockin' all you can eat enchilada dinner.

If 3 races weren't enough, our good friends Sheila Torres-Blank  and Steve Blank
put on an awesome murder mystery night race with a wild west theme.  We gave out cowboy hats, bandanas and prizes for winning groups.  We wrapped up the day with our traditional shmores roast and a poker tourney!

A huge thanks goes out to all the racers, all of the fabulous camp counselors, our sponsors, our TA staff Deanna and Todd and the camp staff that worked their tail off making sure our racers got the best experience possible!

Last but not least our undying gratitude to Josh and everyone over at Camp Eagle.  The past 10 years have not only seen our business relationship blossom but more importantly our friendship!

If you love Too Cool, Camp Eagle, Adventure Racing or Santa Fe...this race is for you!

Camp Eagle's sister camp is Glorieta located right outside Santa Fe New Mexico.

We will have 3 races to choose from: Sprint, 12 hr and a junior adventure race.

We have so much fun stuff planned as well as one tough as nails race.  This camp is nestled in the beautiful southern rockies and exactly where you want to be when you have had enough of the Texas heat.  Rapelling, ziplines, fly lines, waterfront, amazing mountain biking and awesome navigation.  And of course we will wrap up the weekend with happy hour, night nav race, game show and more.

Check out just a smidge of the fun here

Can't wait to see you Labor Day weekend at camp!

The Future's So Bright...
Howl at the Moon Adventure Race
October 24-25, 2015

Our all 'night' race Howl at the Moon, will happen on October 24-25th, 2015 from 8 pm-8 am at Colorado Bend State Park.  We think we have a pretty cool concept for this race.  Teams will have 2 race courses to choose from: the 12 hr adventure course or the 3-6 hr sprint course.  The adventure course will have 12 hours to find checkpoints using the trail maps of the park.  The sprint course will be fashioned after our sprint races. Teams simply need to know how to use a park map to find their way. This course is designed for all the sprint racers that want to cut their teeth racing overnight!

Both courses will have mtn biking, paddling ( boats included for both races ), trail running and a caving section.

This is a super busy park especially in the fall so we recommend bringing your family and booking reservations  early.
There will be some spooky treats along the course and a kids Halloween scavenger hunt before the race.

Registration is open and dirt cheap until July 1st

We want to take a moment to thank all of our Spread Your Wings Totally cool sponsors: Hi Tec, Rail Riders, Soleus Watches, Chamois Butt'r, ARNav Supplies, Diesel Barbershops, TecnuTwisted X,  Trail Toes, Clif, Clif Kids,  Salomon Packs, Runlab, Ultimate Direction and of course Camp Eagle, the most awesome kids camp on the planet!

If you dig any of the things these companies sell than it is up to you to support them by purchasing their products.  Adventure racing is a relatively small market when you compare it to sports like soccer and football.  These companies believe in us and what we do.  Therefore it's vital that we support what they do.

We know you have a choice where and who to race with so we thank all of you who have chosen to race with us!  We hope to see you all this summer at the HOWL!
