ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT UPDATE :: JUNE 2015
A Message from Mayor Tibshraeny ::

With this inaugural issue, I am pleased to introduce the City of Chandler's new economic development e-newsletter. This is part of a concerted effort to keep you, our stakeholders, engaged and informed on the latest project, program and event news you need to know. Each month, we will share stories on major development updates, business locate and expansion announcements, opportunities to participate in economic development events, and what the City is doing to build a vibrant economy and strengthen Chandler's reputation as the Innovation and Technology Hub of the Southwest.

We appreciate your interest in Chandler. If you know anyone who would also find this newsletter valuable, I encourage you to have them sign up today. Should you have questions about anything appearing in the newsletter, our dedicated Economic Development Division staff would be glad to assist you.

Sincerely,
Mayor Jay Tibshraeny
arvato Announces Opening of New CRM Office in San Tan Tech Center ::

arvato, a leading international technology service provider, announced last week that it has opened a new customer relationship management (CRM) office in Chandler. The office, located in the San Tan Tech Center, will provide customer service support to a prominent financial institution and adds to arvato's expanding network of global locations supporting North American customers. Chandler is arvato's fourth US site and the office is planned to house approximately 200 employees by the end of the year with a capacity to hold another 400 employees.

"We are excited to announce our expansion into the Phoenix area. Chandler is an ideal location for our customers because of the knowledgebase and talented workforce. With the support of our global team, we look forward to implementing our extensive CRM solutions for new and existing customers," said Shae Rath, arvato Vice President of Operations.

"This is excellent news for the community as we continue to diversify an already robust employment base, particularly in west Chandler," Mayor Jay Tibshraeny said. "arvato is a welcomed addition to the San Tan Tech Center, and I look forward to their long-term growth and prosperity here in Chandler."

Adaptive Reuse Program Would Create New Opportunities for Redevelopment ::

The City of Chandler is planning to launch an Adaptive Reuse Program designed to stimulate reinvestment downtown and in other established areas. The program would assist property and business owners seeking to adaptively reuse older buildings for commercial purposes by reducing certain site development standards (e.g. setbacks, parking, screening, landscaping) and allowing for greater flexibility in applying City regulations.

If you are interested in learning more about the Adaptive Reuse Program, please contact the Economic Development Division at economicdevelopment@chandleraz.gov
