Training the next generation of therapists
|
A tremendous opportunity for learning,
the three trainees meet weekly for clinical supervision with Ellery Duke, Ph.D.,
the Center's Executive Director.
|
As part of the Center's commitment to training, we are pleased to welcome three new graduate-level trainees: Caitlin Anderson, Andrea Severson and Falesa Ivory-Horton. This year's graduate students are completing their programs in psychology and mental health counseling and are now receiving additional training at the Center to further develop their psychotherapy skills.
Each student is supervised by one of the Center's licensed therapists. Additionally, the students participate in on-site classes including courses on trauma, substance abuse, assessment and professional formation. Students meet for a weekly group supervision with the Center's executive director, Ellery Duke.
Dr. Jeff Means developed the Center's professional education program for mental health and religious professionals in 1980. Dr. Means is a longtime staff member at the Center and an instructor with the Center's PrairieFire program.
"The
professional education program has provided a learning, growing and continuing education influence throughout the Center's history," said Ellery Duke.
For additional information on the Center's clinical training programs, contact Christine Dietz, Ph.D., Director of Professional Education at (515) 274-4006, or email: [email protected].

How to make a counseling appointment:
Thanks for the part you have played and are playing in my journey back to good mental health. It seems like a long time ago when I faced this 'bout' of depression, but I'm confident that I'm on the right track.
