Reinhardt Represents at Rotary

 

 


 

Reinhardt represented well at the Sept. 8 Rotary Club of Canton lunch meeting. Dr. Kina Mallard (center), president, was the featured speaker, along with current student Sarah Williams (left) and alumna Alex Mahan '15, who shared their Reinhardt experiences. Kudos to these three special women!


 

5K for A DAY!

Join us for the 2015 5K for A Day on Saturday, Sept. 19, beginning in Cannon Park  in downtown Canton, Ga.

 

Registration begins at 7:00 a.m. and the 5K Run/Walk begins at 8:00 a.m. Rain or shine!

All major age place groups will be awarded, and overall 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place trophies for male and female will be given.

 

Proceeds will benefit Reinhardt University scholarships for Cherokee County students.

Thursday, Sept. 17 - Business leaders are invited to visit our campus! Eat lunch in the Gordy Dining Center and tour the campus. 

Friday, Sept. 18 - Chick-fil-A night at Riverstone and Canton Marketplace locations in Canton, Ga. Please visit from 4:00 pm - 8:00 p.m. and tell them Reinhardt sent you!  We will receive part of the proceeds back for our A DAY Campaign.  

Community Invited to Concert Remembering Dr. George Lucktenberg, longtime Reinhardt University Artist-in-Residence, on Sun., Sept. 20 at 3 p.m.


The School of Performing Arts at Reinhardt University will present a concert commemorating Dr. George Lucktenberg and his illustrious career on Sunday, Sept. 20, 2015, at 3 p.m. at the Falany Performing Arts Center on Reinhardt's campus in Waleska, Ga.

Lucktenberg, who served as Reinhardt artist-in-residence from 1995 to 2012, passed away on Oct. 26, 2014. During his tenure with Reinhardt, he was an active performer, teacher, clinician and author. The concert is offered to the public free of charge. For more details...

Reinhardt University Named NAIA Champions of Character Five-Star Bronze Institution 
for 2014-15

Reinhardt University has been named a 2014-2015 Champions of Character Five-Star Bronze Institution by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics, NAIA. The designation is given to schools who reach a certain threshold on the NAIA Champions of Character scorecard, which addresses the five core values of integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship and servant leadership.

 

"We are very excited to again earn Five-Star recognition from the NAIA," said RU Director of Athletics Bill Popp. "This award is really a tribute to our coaches and student-athletes who play on the field and work off the field by the NAIA's 'Live 5' characteristics for life." Learn More...

 

 

Waleska Farmers Market Ends 6th Successful Season

 

Thank you to the local community for your wonderful support of the Waleska Farmers Market at Reinhardt University this year! The 6th season has been one of our best yet! Kudos to Zach White, horticulturist, for his enthusiastic leadership, wonderful ideas, and heartfelt commitment to the market, Reinhardt and the local community!

Meet the 2015-16 University Captains; Come for a campus tour!


Meet the 2015-16 Reinhardt University Captains! Captains are ambassadors for prospective students and their families who visit the campus. The responsibilities that captains have include giving on campus tours and assisting with Junior and Senior Preview Days throughout the year.

Police Academy Alumnus Earns Commendation for Heroic Service

Officer Matthew Akins (Class 15-001) was recently recognized by the Carver College Police Department for his heroic acts on July 1, 2015. He was awarded a Letter of Commendation from Chief R. Collins for courage above and beyond the call of duty.

Eagles Make Program History in Football Home Opener

Reinhardt's offense continued to roll and its defense allowed the fewest points in program history as the Eagles soared past Kentucky Christian, 52-3, in the home opener on Saturday, Sept. 12, at Ken White Field.  The Eagles (2-0) scored all of their points in the first 40 minutes of the game, as KCU scored its only points on a 36-yard field goal with 3:08 remaining in the contest.

Student-Athletes Take Home NAIA Honors

Reinhardt's Randi Wimpy and Taylor Braselton were each named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association NAIA East Region First Team.

Wimpy also repeated as an NAIA Softball First Team All-American.

Maksim Yorsh made RU men's tennis history when the junior was named an NAIA Honorable Mention All-American.
