Chapter member
Dianna Berry wanted you to know about a fun opportunity to play in a tournament. Here's what she had to say about it: "
I've been working on this tournament all year. We are looking for golfers, sponsors and volunteers. This tournament is a blast ... helicopter dimple drop, all Par 3 have hole-in-one prizes, including a luxury car ... caddies ... a nice golf jacket ... games and prizes on other holes; and a plated awards dinner with live auction, silent auction and raffle prizes. Fantastic items to bid on".

Clinic: Supervised Practice - This Great Series Produced New Skills!
|
On August 4th
, the series ended. The ten members who participated enjoyed the camaraderie of practicing with friends under the helpful eye of a great instructor. Denise Fass, the Professional Golf Instructor at Leader Golf Center in Natomas emphasized that the number one thing when practicing is to have a goal or purpose. She stressed the importance of being motivated and limiting your focus to only one or two goals. And most importantly she was there to give each person individual feedback on the skills they were trying to improve. What a fun way to learn and practice!

Equipment Demo and Social at Haggin Oaks
by Sonya Bradley, Event Chair (Thank You Sonya for a great event)!
|
On July 29, about two dozen EWGA Sacramento members and a few guests attended the third annual Equipment Demo and Social at Haggin Oaks. Apprentice professional and Club Fitting Specialist Danielle Nash gave a brief and succinct overview of the differences in golf club types, the importance of selecting the right shafts and the importance of a fitting, especially as your skill level improves. Even the seasoned golfers walked away with a little extra knowledge about golf clubs. And like every good EWGA gathering, many of us wound up on the 19th hole for food, drink and comradeship. Thanks to Haggin Oaks for the shady venue under the arbor and providing us with tables, plenty of chairs and, of course, our 10% discount in the Super Shop.
