The Vibrant and The Learned
May 2015
The Conventional Recap
If you missed it...

There it was in Billings.  On the top towers of the Crowne Plaza, there was some very serious learning happening.  Fascia?  We covered that.  Knees?  Worked on them.  Learned about the skin trade?  Yeh, that was an eye-opener, thanks Butch.  If you haven't looked into supporting the the Anti-trafficking coalitions in Montana, then it might be time.  It's an astonishingly real problem, with real victims.

Exploring the Tibial Plateau
With Pat O'Rourke

The Coronary Ligament?  Where is that anyway?  Pat O'Rourke took us on a very thorough investigation of the knee.  Testing motion and stability, looking at tightness in one ligament or muscle and moving systemically through each muscle group and ligament connected to one of the most injured and at the same time most important areas of the body.  How do we run, jump, or simply walk upright?  The Knees.

What happens when an organism evolved to run for hours, maybe days at a time in the hot sun, sits in front of a computer for hours, days at a time?  What happens to the knees?

Found brilliance at the level of fascia

Thoracolumbar fascia.  It's like the puppeteer that controls your whole back, or maybe more?  There are layers upon layers of fascia, overlapping, moving together: strings that reach from the glutes into the lats and all the way to the shoulders.  It's not a huge jump to think that pain moves along these same channels.

Mike Hamm worked with the attendees to unfurl the layer after layer of differentiated fascia.  Fascia that wraps around the nerves, the organs, the muscles.  It's everywhere!

Have you looked around at your town recently?  Notice anything particularly sketchy about the place with the curtains drawn?  If you walk in is there a small hallway with a security door?  The underground of massage therapy is very much alive in many states in America.  Montana is one of them.  Go out a search for a place to help.
