If you've watched movies or TV in the last 50 years, chances are you're going to recognize some of the names in 2015 Panini Americana. The brand is back, bringing a broad mix of celebrity-driven content including autographs and memorabilia. Hobby boxes come with four hits, at least two of which are autographs.
Rather than opting for a license on a specific show, movie or other property, 2015 Panini Americana is a hodgepodge focusing on the actors and singers themselves. And while it's not going to be all A-list talent, there are some major names lending their signature and wardrobe. Bradley Cooper, Kevin Hart, Al Pacino, and Sylvester Stallone are among the big names with autographs in the set. Others include Martin Short, Jordana Brewster (The Fast and the Furious), Laura Prepon (Orange Is the New Black, That '70s Show), Tiffani Thiessen (Saved By the Bell's Kelly Kapowski), Roger Moore, Laura Dern, Alexa Vega and Nick Cannon. There are also some early-'90s pop stars like Paula Abdul, Vanilla Ice and DJ Jazzy Jeff making their autographed trading card debuts.
Among the autograph sets is Signatures. The simple concept include Blue (#/49), Green(#/25) and Black (1/1) parallels. Big Screen Signatures has a more focused approach, centering on movie stars. These also have Combo Signature versions that come with a pair of autographs.
On the memorabilia side of things, 2015 Panini Americana has several sets. Silver Screen Jumbo Materials come with clothing worn by movie greats from the past including Jimmy Stewart, Bela Legosi and Bette Davis. In addition to regular swatches, there are also cards with multiple pieces. Jumbo Prime Materials take a similar approach with more contemporary actors and personalities. Co-Stars Materials pair up swatches worn by two or three people who worked together on the same show or film.
It's important to note that while memorabilia in Americana is worn by the featured celebrities, it isn't necessarily screen-worn. It can also be wardrobe from their own personal collections.
2015 Panini Americana isn't all about autographs and memorabilia. Hobby boxes also have eight other inserts as well. Freeze Frame have a manufactured piece of film embedded in it.On the Tube is a die-cut set that focuses on television stars. Certified Singles andCertified Albums cover music acts.
And while the focus of 2015 Panini Americana is largely about the world of entertainment, a limited amount of sports content is also available. Winner's Circle is dedicated to the world horse racing. Autographs and memorabilia are available from jockeys and trainers like Bob Baffert, Pat Day, Gary Stevens, Mike Smith and D. Wayne Lukas. Winner's Circle also has a die-cut basic insert set.
