News & Opportunities

INTRODUCTION- We are excited to be growing into the Puget Sound area. Our first edition for Puget Sound will hit the streets September 1, 2015. For the past 8 years Retirement Connection has provided the most comprehensive local resource for families and providers of those 50 & better in Oregon. We currently publish 3 resource guides: Portland/Vancouver, Mid Willamette Valley, and Southern Oregon.  
 
Our goal is to be more than a print guide; we hope to be an extension of your marketing department- with print, website, and networking opportunities. We work closely with providers and hospital case managers in 3 distinct areas:
  1. PRINT- Providing the most comprehensive print resource. This is why we list EVERY Independent Living, Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing, Home Health, In-Home Care, and Hospice at NO CHARGE. This way the case managers and social workers are confident they have an accurate and complete list to use.
  2. WEB- We provide a dedicated Case Manager page for each hospital on our website with short cuts to their most commonly used links and features on our website. The page is customized for each hospital and can include other resources needed by their staff. Thank you to the staff at UW Valley Medical and Virginia Mason for their feedback and suggestions to make the topics most relevant to Washington.
  3. WEB- We also have a "My List of Resources" on our website- where web users can build their own customized list of resources to share with families or download and print. We are happy to list EVERY agency, but only our sponsors have an email, web link, logo and description online.
  4. NETWORK- We coordinate events to bring providers together with referral sources. Below is the information about our first event: The Valley Medical Case Management Resource Fair, on July 8th. Usually we do not begin to coordinate these events until the guide is published, but we greatly appreciate the vote of confidence from Valley Medical in moving forward with their event early.

Purpose of Event

A win-win-win event...

  • Vendors/Providers have the opportunity to network with Hospital Case Managers, Social Workers and Discharge Planning support staff.
  • Hospital staff are able to gather resource information, while obtaining Continuing Education Credits.
  • Proceeds from the booth fees will be used to support low income patients in need.
1 CEU credit has been approved by CCMC for Case Managers

Commentary: How much time do you spend fussing about competition? Any time is too much! That's time that could be spent focusing on your mission and your benefits and your growth. Know your competition, but don't obsess or distract yourself. They may actually become a great referral source.
