| May 1st is Deadline For Business Award Nominations The Outer Banks Chamber of Commerce and Southern Bank are now accepting nominations for the 2015 ESBY (Entrepreneur & Small Business of the Year) Awards. The Following Awards Will Be Presented: *Solopreneur (1 Employee) *Home-Based Business (3 or Less Employees) *Small Business (10 or Less Employees) *Small Business (11-50 Employees) Winners will be recognized at the Entrepreneur and Small Business Celebration Luncheon to be held June 4, 2015 at the Sea Ranch Resort in Kill Devil Hills. Cost to attend this event will be $25 each. Eligible applicants have been in business in the area for at least two years and are members in good standing of the Outer Banks Chamber. Nominees will be evaluated based on their descriptions of their business profile, challenges, growth, customer service practices, marketing strategies, and community involvement. The deadline for submissions is 5:00 p.m., Friday, May 1, 2015.

Tickets Now On Sale For Summeritaville 2015

The 3rd Annual Summeritaville Music Event will be held 6-10:00 p.m., Firday, June 26, 2015 at the Waves Village Watersports Resort in Rodanthe. Event sponsors are The Outer Banks Chamber of Commerce, Kitty Hawk Kites, Waves Village Watersports Resort, Good Winds Restaurant, The Outer Banks Hospital, Outer Beaches Realty. Cape Hatteras Electric Cooperative, Haoles Sushi and Sake Bar, Southern Insurance, and Lisa's Pizzeria. Some sponsor slots remain.
This year's event will feature live music from SOULone and Jonny Waters & Company, great food and beverages, a craft beer garden, raffle prizes, activities for children, water sports and skill toy demos, local craft vendors, and more.
Jonny Waters is a multi-talented musician from the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Recently winning the OBX Entertainment 2012 Band of the Year award, he is proud and grateful to call the islands and shores his home. Jonny has focused his talent into his voice and guitar. His sound is strongly influenced by Blue-eyed Soul, Blues, Folk, Reggae and Acoustic music. Jonny performs in a variety of locations from solo instrumental performances in intimate settings to multi-member bands in headlining gigs, and everywhere in between.
SOULone is a local band on the Outer Banks, fusing musical styles like acoustic rock, reggae, blues, jazz and funk. They mold all of these expressions into their own, creating a unique experience.
