Update to Transparency in Westlake
We noticed an error in the repository link provided to you in last week’s Wire and extend our aplogies for any inconvenience.  Please use the link provided below to first access the Public Information page on the Town’s website and then follow the instructions given here.

The Town of Westlake has recently completed an update to our website’s public information page ( click here). The link on the public information page will send you to a document repository, Weblink hosted by Mcci, which allows access to public documents that can be key word searched. You can search municipality minutes back to 1957, school board minutes back to 2003, and all resolutions for both the Town and Academy.

Once you are at Westlake’s repository home page, you will then see a Westlake, TX folder. Clicking on that folder will allow access to a Town of Westlake and Westlake Academy folder. With a click on either of those folders, the minute and resolution folders will be revealed.

While the entire repository is key word searchable, we recommend you narrow the scope of your search by either a year or at least, a common word.  Searching by ‘Mayor’ or ‘Student’ would return thousands of documents. Searching by ‘Election’ or ‘handbook’ would return several hundred but if you narrowed your search by selecting the year, the search may return only a few documents.  Questions?  Just contact Town Secretary Kelly Edwards for assistance as she, and all Town staff, are increasing transparency in Westlake...one click at a time!
Bi-annual Resident Survey will be
arriving in your mailbox soon!
We truly want to know what you think!  In our efforts to continue service excellence to our citizens, our 2015 Westlake Resdent Survey will be coming your way within the next month. This bi-annual survey is a critical component in decision making and is routinely used to help our elected officials and staff plan for the future of Westlake.
Have a favorite homemade ice cream recipe? Enter your family's favorite ice cream in our contest at Decoration Day!

Memorial Day is approaching fast and that means Decoration Day in Westlake! Each year our historical preservation society hosts this memorable, old-fashioned evening and many neighbors, especially those in Stagecoach Hills, have helped support Decoration Day by providing delicious entries for the homemade ice cream contest. (Big Red ice cream anyone?) We hope this year that we will have many more entries in the contest - coming up soon on Monday, May 25 - especially from those neighbors new to the Westlake community!

This annual event is always a family favorite, and a very moving one for our community, as we gather together to honor all soldiers and families that have sacrificed so much for our freedom. Mark your calendars now and don't miss special guest speaker Ret. Lieutenant General Rick Lynch...and free hot dogs, and music, and...ice cream!

Please contact WHPS Board member Paula Thornton for more information about the Decoration Day Ice Cream Contest at 817-500-8452 or by emailCalling all ice cream connoisseurs- we need you!
