Teddy's first official 5K post- run picture.  We had a great time raising over $10,000 for Pet Cancer research at The Unleashed by Petco Dash for Pet Cancer 5K and Fun Run in Wellseley, MA.  He decided the Polar Springs table cloth was just the right cooling fabric for him!

Allergy Season: What Can You Do?

While we all welcome the warmer weather and the beautiful opportunities it presents for us to spend more time with our hoofed friends, there are also side effects that come with all of Mother Earth's beautiful biologic activity. Pollen counts were at a record high throughout the spring and continue to remain high as we stretch into the dog days of summer. While the signs of allergies are very obvious and easily identifiable to horse owners, here we break down the three more obvious symptoms and go over the options we have available to diagnose and treat them.

Milo's Corner

July is the perfect month to perfect your "Horsey Paddle"

Milo here!  Just wanted to share one of my A-mane-zing stories with you all.  We all know the summers can get brutal up here in New England and we all need to stay cool any way we can.  So I encourage all my horse and human friends alike to treat themselves to a swim!  I happen to enjoy head dunking and splashing off my own boots the most, very liberating.  My human brought me to  The Delaney Project Conservation Lands in Stow, MA. I was, of course, a natural at swimming on my first try, at home with the fish, bir ds, and other amphibious creatures. I will caution all of you of one oddity that might have you swimming in the direction of home rather unexpectedly.... My human called them "canoes"...... They appear to be large, bright, legless and silent beasts that lurk in certain bodies of water.  They display their captive humans above the water for all to fear.  My human is currently trying to convince me these "canoes" are far less dangerous than I have imagined, I will update you if my opinion changes. If you have pictures of your human and you enjoying some aquatic activities, post them to the NBEA Facebook and show off how you cool down this summer!
