Are you willing to spend 20 minutes to save $21 million?

Your Help is Urgently Needed

Ohio is in the middle of negotiations for the next State budget that will begin July 1, 2015 and go through June 30, 2017. Governor Kasich has proposed significant new money into our DD system, and now it is at risk.

Due to alternative cost projections, the DD budget as voted by the House of Representatives was reduced. Koinonia's priority is to restore those funds. Will you help?

Please take just 20 minutes to send the e-mail text below to every Senate member on the target list. Then ask your co-workers, your friends, and your families to do the same. It's very simple. The below e-mail (no changes) to each and every one of the Senators listed. The more volume the better!

Subject: SUB. HB 64

Dear Senator (Name):

I write to request the Ohio Senate use the as introduced budget numbers for the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities in your consideration of Sub. HB 64. The Governor's budget made a historic investment in Ohio's developmental disabilities system. The new monies in their entirety represent a comprehensive and interwoven approach to our system's current and future needs.

Please vote to support Ohio's developmental disabilities system by using the Governor's original budget numbers. The funding is critically important to thousands of Ohioan's with developmental disabilities. Thank you for your time and consideration.
